Pottery Handbuilding | Travel Mug - March

In this single session, you'll use the slab building technique to construct a ceramic travel mug from flat pieces of clay.

What You'll Learn
You'll learn to roll an even, consistent slab and use it to construct the walls, base, and lid of a travel mug form. We'll cover how to score and slip your seams for a watertight join, how to shape and attach a lid that's comfortable to drink from. We'll also talk through what makes a handbuilt mug food safe and functional so yours is something you'll actually use.

What's Included
All clay, tools, and materials are provided. Once your mug has been bisque fired, you're invited to our monthly group glazing session to choose your colors and finishes. You'll be notified when your finished piece is ready for pickup, or you can arrange shipping during class.

Who This Is For
This workshop is for anyone interested in ceramics or hand-building techniques. No experience needed. Perfect if you want to make something you'll actually use daily.

What to Wear

Clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty with clay.
