The MixMatch offers electric kiln firing for independent makers throughout Fort Worth and the DFW community.
Our Community Kiln program provides Cone 06–04 bisque and Cone 6 glaze firing, with options for individual submissions, partial kiln space, and full kiln rentals.
How it Works
1. Submit an Inquiry
Start by telling us about your project through our kiln firing inquiry form.
We'll ask about:
- What you're having fired
- Number and approximate size of pieces
- Bisque or glaze firing
- Clay body and manufacturer
- Glaze information, if applicable
- Your desired timeline
- The amount of kiln space you think you'll need
2. We'll Review Your Request
We'll review your materials and project to determine whether we're able to accommodate your firing.
We'll respond with:
- Confirmation of material compatibility
- Recommended firing service
- Estimated pricing
- Available drop-off times
- Any preparation requirements
Once your firing is approved, we'll send you a link to complete your official submission through ClayTrack.
3. Complete Your ClayTrack Submission
Use the link we provide to submit your work through ClayTrack.
You'll enter your final project information, upload photographs of your pieces, identify your clay and glaze, and add any notes or special instructions.
4. Schedule Your Drop-Off
We'll arrange a drop-off time with you.
Please do not leave work at the studio before your scheduled drop-off.
5. Drop Off & Inspection
At drop-off, we'll inspect your work and confirm that it meets our firing requirements.
We may decline work that is incompatible, improperly prepared, or presents a risk to the kiln or other work.
Once accepted, we'll confirm your final price and add your work to the firing queue.
6. We Fire Your Work
Your work moves through our ClayTrack system
7. Pick Up
We'll email you when your work is ready.
Please pick up your work within 30 days of notification.

Our smaller Olympic kiln is also rated to Cone 10.
It is particularly suited for:

Firing Results
Ceramic firing is inherently unpredictable.
While we take care in handling, loading, firing, and unloading your work, we cannot guarantee a particular result.
Work may crack, warp, explode, discolor, blister, crawl, run, stick to kiln shelves, or otherwise change during firing.
By submitting work for firing, you acknowledge the inherent risks of ceramic firing.
The MixMatch is not responsible for damage, defects, or loss resulting from the inherent risks of ceramic firing.
Customers are responsible for damage caused by improperly prepared or incompatible work, including damage to kiln shelves, kiln furniture, elements, or other equipment.
Kiln Firing Rates
Our firing rates are based on the amount of kiln shelf space your work occupies. Capacity examples are estimates based on standard-sized pieces. Final shelf allocation is determined by The MixMatch based on the size, shape, and configuration of your work.

Bisque Cone 06–04: $40
Glaze Cone 6: $48
Full Kiln, 3-Shelf Load

Bisque Cone 06–04: $105

Important Capacity Note
Our Olympic 1823MA kiln uses approximately 17.5" diameter shelves and can accommodate approximately 3–4 shelves, depending on the height and configuration of the work.
Piece counts are provided as general examples only. A tall mug, large bowl, sculpture, or unusually shaped piece may occupy more shelf space than a standard piece.
The MixMatch will determine the appropriate firing size and final shelf allocation after reviewing your submission.
