Join Ash, the curandera behind Astral Tripper, for an artist talk and clay hand-building workshop exploring the crossroads of cultural identity, art, and spirituality. Ash will open the session with a snack and tea, followed by a group limpia (spiritual cleansing) to align our minds, hearts, and hands before we begin.
What You'll Do
Working with clay, we will form, slip-trail, paint, wax, and carve designs into tiles with the intention to honor our ancestors and those who shaped us into the people we are today. We will add a loop of wire to our tiles so they may be strung for hanging on a wall once they have gone through their final firing.
After your pieces are bisque fired, they will have clear glaze added to them in house before their final glaze firing. Pieces will be ready for pickup before the end of the month, just in time to add to your altar for Día de Muertos.
