Pottery Wheel Basics: Choose Your Project | September 11th 7pm-9pm (Friday)
In this two-hour introductory workshop, you'll learn the fundamentals of centering and throwing on the pottery wheel, then choose what you'd like to create from a selection of beginner-friendly projects.
What You'll Learn
You'll learn how to center clay, open the base, pull up walls, and shape and refine your form. Each technique will be demonstrated before you try it yourself, with guidance from your instructor throughout the session.
What's Included
All clay, tools, and wheel time are included.
What's Next?
After your class, your piece will need to slowly dry before it can be fired for the first time. This process typically takes 3–4 weeks.
Once your piece has been bisque fired, we'll contact you by email to schedule your glazing session. Glazing sessions are $25. During your session, you'll choose your glaze color(s), learn how to apply the glaze, and take your time finishing your piece exactly how you'd like.
After your piece has been glazed and gone through its final firing, you'll be notified when it's ready for pickup. Shipping can also be arranged during your glazing session.
Who This Is For This class is for complete beginners and curious returners alike. If you've always wanted to try the wheel or just want a fun, hands-on afternoon, this is the place to start.
What to Wear
Wear clothing and shoes you're comfortable getting clay and water on. Aprons are provided, but clay has a way of finding everything anyway.
