Youth Pottery Wheel Try It Class | August 29th (Saturday) 3pm-5pm

In this fun, single-session class, young artists will get their first experience using the pottery wheel while learning the basics of creating with clay.

What You'll Learn

Students will be guided step by step through the fundamentals of wheel throwing, including preparing their clay, centering on the wheel, opening the clay, and pulling up the walls to create a simple pottery form. Along the way, they'll learn how clay behaves on the wheel and how to shape it into something uniquely their own. No experience is needed, and every technique will be demonstrated before students try it themselves.

What's Included

All clay, tools, and wheel time are included. Our instructors will guide students through every stage of the process, creating a supportive and encouraging environment for first-time potters.

Before leaving class, each student will choose a glaze color for their piece. Our studio team will professionally glaze and fire the pottery. Parents or guardians will be notified when finished pieces are ready for pickup, and shipping can be arranged during class if needed.

Who This Is For

This class is perfect for kids who love creating, enjoy getting their hands messy, or have always wanted to try the pottery wheel. No prior pottery experience is necessary. It's a great introduction to ceramics and a fun way to build creativity, confidence, and new skills.

What to Wear

Please wear comfortable clothing and closed toe shoes that can get a little messy. Aprons are provided, but clay has a way of getting into everything!
